Modoc Country Living - Modoc Location



Now, its just a simple click to our Modoc location! The usual response from people when I tell them where we live is, "Where's Modoc?"! I've also gotten that same query from numerous visitors to this website. Use this map to find out where Modoc County, Alturas and peaceful country living are.

Modoc County has the documented cleanest air in California, and with a total population of less than 10,000, we also have the least congestion. In fact, a traffic alert is called any time more than 2 cars show up at our only stoplight at the same time! That lone stoplight is a flashing red light in the heart of Alturas (junction of CA299 and US395) which is in the heart of the county. Probably because of our location, climate and population, this is a great place to enjoy country living.
